WHO ARE WE?
About the author
Hi ya’ll my name is Emily and as you can guess by the name of my blog my favorite people call me Auntie Em. My nephews and nieces are my favorite taste testers and kitchen helpers. No frosting is safe from little finger marks in the bowl with them around, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest where I still live. Away from the kitchen I enjoy relaxing in nature, spending time with my dog, reading, keeping aquariums, listening to music and sewing. I have a dog named Sergeant Pepper who is a blue merle goldendoodle and mobility/ medical alert service dog. I’ve started this blog because I have had trouble with my autoimmune diseases for a few years now, and that has prevented me from doing a lot of complex cooking and baking. I have come to find that when I search for recipes online, they take a ton of different ingredients, require a lot of time, and usually will leave me with a sink full of dishes. I simply don’t have the energy to stand over a stove for half an hour stirring or dealing with a messy kitchen afterwards. In the United States 1 in 4 adults have a disability. I realized that there are millions of people just like me that are low energy, low on time, have food restrictions, have physical restrictions, or maybe just aren’t comfortable in the kitchen. So given all that I had a newfound sense of purpose and that is to teach you all how to make easy meals and snacks that you’ll love! Please consider following me on my journey with food.
